The polar blast is slowly heading up the country and we are eagerly awaiting its arrival at Cheeseman! Around 20cms of dense sticky snow fell last weekend which has laid an excellent base for the season and we are looking forward to opening day on Saturday 6 July which is rapidly approaching! On mountain preparations have been progressing extremely well and key staff are on-board already. The rest of the mountain crew will kick off staff induction in Christchurch on Monday 1 July and will then make their way up the mountain on 2 July to complete training and final pre-opening preparations. We are lucky to have a good core of returning staff along with a few new faces in the mix. We hope to have an upper mountain webcam operating soon and the team are busy working on having this running in the early part of the season – we’ll keep you posted on this. A members pre-season function will be held on Monday 1 July from 6pm on-wards at the Twisted Hop in Woolston – more details below. Don’t forget to get your Ski Week and / or weekend bookings in – most of the popular weeks are already full and other are filling fast! Members Pre-Season FunctionMonday 1 July – 6pm Onwards This year it’s back to the future – we are off to the Twisted Hop once more – no not the one in Poplar Lane which sadly is no more, but the new one at 616 Ferry Rd Woolston, with our same genial host and brewer – Stephen Hardman, himself a keen skier (when he gets the time!)
A full selection of food will be available much at discounted prices including:Bar Snacks, Pizzas, Other mains, Desserts. We look forward to a good turnout, the opportunity to catch up, meet new members and to give a great welcome to this year’s staff team. Families welcome
