We are a smaller ski area which operates all regular aspects of a commercial ski area operation and we also own and operate two accommodation lodges. Ticket Office and Cafe Floater – 2021

We require the services of a motivated, enthusiastic and customer focused individual to assist in either the Ticket Office or the Cafe areas of our busy Daylodge complex - the area you'll be in may change several times during the day and is dictated by customer flows and busy periods in each of the departments. You will also be covering staff members on their days off in these departments. This is a hands on role with direct face to face contact with customers so a tidy presentation and friendly welcoming personality is essential. Food & Accommodation is available on the mountain as part of this role.

Bar Staff & Lodge Assistant – 2021

We are looking for a multi-talented person to fill this newly created split shift role for the 2021 season. The position will include two main roles - running the evening licensed bar in Snowline Lodge (expected operational hours are 6:00pm - Midnight - although some nights may be earlier finish) and assisting the Cook with general food preparation and serving lunch etc. or other duties such as cleaning around the Lodge. Snowboard Instructor – 2021

We require the services of 1 Snowboard instructor to join our small and very personal ski school team for the 2021 season. You will find yourself teaching a huge variety of clients of all levels, meeting many new faces / friends during your time as an instructor at Cheeseman. The Ski School also helps out with a wide variety of other tasks around the ski area depending on your skills, but you must not be shy of picking up a shovel to help clear the decks along with many other tasks - you'll take away from your experience what you put in! Applicants must have NZSIA Stage 1 one as minimum requirement (but preferably level 2) and minimum 1 seasons experience teaching / instructing within the industry. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation and NZ border controls / isolation requirements, applicants who are local or here in NZ with work Visa's will be looked on favorably

Rental Technician – 2021

We need to fill a full-time position during the season within the Rental Department and are looking for a passionate person to run our small but busy rental department. Ideally you will have had previous experience although training can be given to someone who knows their way around ski’s and snowboards. You will be dealing one on one with clients so need a friendly and positive attitude along with a non-flustered approach to sometimes busy periods. From time to time you will also be required to help out in other areas of the Daylodge facility such as the Ticket Office & Cafe so a flexible and positive attitude is a must! Cafe – 2021

We have a full time position available during the season running our busy cafe where we sell coffee and prepared food. Barista training / experience is preferable. The Cafe is often the first port of call when guests arrive on the mountain and you will be dealing directly with a variety of guests face to face so must have tidy personal presentation / work habits and a positive and personable attitude. Lodge and Guest Manager – 2021

We require the services of a level headed person who is customer focused and has an eye for detail. You will be responsible for the overall smooth running of Snowline Lodge and its guests (up to 80) and involves managing our online booking system, meeting / greeting guests, answering questions and in general being the first point of call for guests. You will also be required to assist in the Ticket Office at times to relieve staff for meal breaks / days off. This position will be full-time during the busy months of July & August and September work will be by negotiation. Ski Patroller – 2021

We have 2 positions available for experienced patrollers with a minimum of 2 seasons in the ski industry and Pre-Hospital Emergency Care qualification. Ideally candidates will have successfully completed Avalanche 1 course (or equal overseas qualification) and will have snow blasting experience. The role includes (but limited to) general ski patrol work, assisting Snow Safety Officer with snow safety programme, running the ski area lifts and assisting with setting up the field for events. Snow Safety Officer – 2021

The Snow Safety Officer is responsible for running Mt Cheeseman’s Snow Safety programme and is an integral role of the winter operation. This position requires all avalanche mitigation has been carried out prior to opening the slopes for the day and is ongoing through-out every day of the season. It is a very Health & Safety orientated role and also requires active involvement on the Ski Patrol Team and general day to day operation of the ski area such as attending to accidents / medical requirements to running the lifts. Applicants must have completed a Minimum of 1 season in this role and have NZ Avalanche Risk Management Level 6 (or overseas equivalent), Current Controlled Substance Licence (CSL) and XE Handlers Certificate (assistance with renewals for latter 2 can be provided)
