Mt Cheeseman’s accommodation options are set in a true alpine wonderland, only 90 minutes drive from Christchurch. There are two accommodation lodges.
The lodge right on the ski field is called “Snowline” with the Day Lodge beside it. In winter Snowline offers catered, ski-in, ski-out accommodation with easy access; drive right up to within 15 metres of the lodge to the drop off/pick up area, and then park your car a short, easy stroll away. The ease of being able to ski straight to the lodge door and ski straight out onto the lifts makes Snowline popular for families and multi-day ski holidays. Ride the T-Bar lifts, and relax in the large communal dining/living area while your meals are prepared by our resident cook. Enjoy hot showers, sun-drenched decks and fresh tracks the next morning.
The Day Lodge includes licenced Cockayne Café, offering great coffee and hot homemade food. This large space includes tables and chairs and cubbies for day tripper ski gear.
Snowline Lodge (rear) is a comfortable expedition base with expansive views.
In summer “Snowline” is available for exclusive group bookings making the alpine experience easy with parking outside the lodge and access to many recreation activities. Snowline accommodates 67 with 65 in bunk rooms (4 – 6 bunks per room) plus one double bedroom. Bunk style accommodation for up to 68 (one double bedroom). Bathrooms are separate women’s and men’s facilities. Commercial kitchen with dishwasher. Linen hire available. Catering equipment available for large functions.
The Day Lodge offers a large open space with seating up to 100. The Café kitchen is included and Wifi and TV screens are available.

Forest Lodge is located 15 mins from SH73 on the Cheeseman access road. Another 15 min drive will take you to Mt Cheeseman Ski Area for winter skiing. With access to some of the best skiing/snowboarding NZ, a large network of mountain bike trails, an onsite natural ice-skating rink, and just a 15min drive away from the popular rock-climbing/bouldering spot at Castle Hill rocks, Forest Lodge is an adventure enthusiast’s dream.
Managed independently, Forest Lodge is available all year round.
