Snow Update
As predicted the weather last weekend was less than desirable and whilst Christchurch enjoyed warm temperatures here in the Craigieburns we were ravaged by high winds, rain and Snow forcing us to remain closed over the weekend and Monday. By Tuesday the weather had settled and we opened again with the weather conditions for the rest of the week remaining relatively settled and mild with almost spring conditions at times! We began the week with a wet snowpack but after 3 cold nights the pack is drying out and freezing up in the early hours of the morning. As we look ahead to the weekend there is a chance of Snow on late Friday through to Saturday with weather clearing on Sunday so keep your fingers crossed for the snow.

On the Mountain
Adult / Fine Wine week came to an end last Saturday and I heard the comment "I'm going home feeling very worn out after a huge and very enjoyable week".
"Family One" Ski week have hit the slopes every day this week and as I write this the field is drenched in Sunlight whilst there is a thick layer of fog down in the Valley floor - so yet another beautiful day is starting here in the mountains. As the names describes this week is all about families and its been great to see lots of children enjoying themselves up here this week. Our nanny Phoebe has been entertaining the children at key times during the day and Melissa our cook has prepared early meals for the children before Phoebe takes them down to the Daylodge for some early evening activities leaving the parents to enjoy their own meals and socialise.
As were not able to open to the mountain last Saturday night we will be holding the Swiss National night party this coming Saturday. The Swissies have some entertainment lined up so its sure to be a great evening with the chance of new snow to enjoy too!
The next 2 weeks we have a full Lodge here at Snowline. Next week our annual Wellington group week will be here and with any luck the fresh snow will set them up with another fantastic week on the slopes.
