Opening Update
Even the best laid plans can be foiled and it looks like our plan of opening this coming Saturday is not to be. The warm June Temps continued through late last week and into the weekend with the trend finally breaking earlier this week and with the arrival of our full staff team on the mountain on Tuesday we finally received some snow during Tuesday afternoon / night. Unfortunately what fell hasn't been enough to guarantee us a good solid base for opening so we are now patiently awaiting a further snow fall before declaring the mountain open.
Snow / Weather Update
With the latest front having blown through and clearing its lungs the weather forecasts appear settled for the next few days through until Tuesday next week when there looks to be a change to a Northerly cycle and a chance of Snow. Keep an eye on the website www.mtcheeseman.co.nz and webcam for further updates and news.

Pre-Season Function
An excellent turn-out of members enjoyed our pre-season get together at Filadelphios last monday evening. Our staff, many of which have recently arrived in Christchurch, were there too so it was a great chance to meet the new members of the 2011 staff team and also catch up with many of the familiar faces who are returning.
As usual there were many stories of what people had been up to over summer and of course peoples Earthquake experiences were being discussed - hopefully the 2011 Ski Season will provide a good distraction from the recent events in Christchurch!

Cheeseman Posters
Our new 2011 Posters have been printed and will be freely available on request from Cockayne Cafe in the Daylodge. We have 2 available again this year with one including the events Calendar. Postcards, bumper stickers and other merchandise is also available during the season. Our popular T Shirts are again in production this year and various sizes will be available - if you can't find the right size on the mountain fear not as we can order them to suit size and colour for you.
