Snow Update

The snow just keeps getting better and and better! After an awesome weekend on the slopes a further 25 cm's fell earlier this week and comments were that "it was the best snow that I've ever skied on in New Zealand". After the slow start to the season we are well and truly underway now with fantastic coverage across the whole mountain. We have been grooming daily and are opening up more groomed areas at present for your enjoyment. The new snow also gives us good cover for the Secondary Schools Race event next Tuesday and we will be starting on course preparation over the weekend.

On the Mountain

Last weekend saw a strong turn-out of visitors to Cheeseman who were keen to try out new snow from the previous few days - we even had lift lines on Sunday! On Sunday the races gates were up for racers who are registered in the Secondary schools racing to have a practice run for the upcoming event.

Adult week / Fine Wine week kicked off on Sunday night and from what I've heard its been a blast! Great skiing, great company, excellent food, new snow and even some whisky tasting on Tuesday night. I even believe they were cooking a Haggis for Wednesday nights dinner so i'm looking forward to hearing how that went (and tasted)!

This coming weekend we are celebrating Swiss National Day on Saturday night at Snowline Lodge (the actual day is 1st August). Also we are farewelling Albert, one of our Swiss Ski Instructors and welcome Jan who is taking over from Albert.

Family 1 Ski Week kicks off on Sunday night and there is a mixture of members and non-members enjoying another fantastic ski week experience. A few space are still available if you have the urge to come up and join us for either the whole week or part of the week.

Friday - Fine with increasing high cloud, Northwest picking up in the late afternoon / early evening.

Saturday - Rain developing in the Mountains falling as Snow above 2000m, Moderate North-Westerly.

Sunday - Heavy rain falling as Snow above 2000m, Severe Northwest gales easing in the evening.
