Welcome to our first Winter edition of Cheeseman E-News.
Where is all the snow we hear you ask? Good question we are wondering too - after all it is winter!
Generally by now the mountains have a good coating of snow over them and Cantabrians are enjoying spectacular views of them on the crystal clear winter days - but alas no such luck so far this winter. The ski industry has featured heavily in the media over recent days mainly due to the lack of snow and even areas with the best snow making facilities are still closed due to mild June temperatures. There have been several light snow falls earlier in the month but mild temperatures have melted out what snow did fall so its a bit of a waiting game at present!

Opening Day
We are still working towards our planned opening day of Saturday 2nd July and all preparations are well in hand as we sprint towards that date. Obviously opening on that date will be subject to Snow and weather conditions permitting but we are remaining optimistic that Mother Nature will deliver the goods in time.
There is a chance of some colder weather heading our way this coming weekend with a change to South-East on Saturday and lowering freezing Levels. Keep an eye on the website and webcam for updates www.mtcheeseman.co.nz
