Hopefully you are not to rushed off your feet with last minute preparations and organising? Don't forget there's only 2 sleeps left until the big red guy with the white beard drops down the Chimney - thats if there are any chimney's left standing in Christchurch!
The weather in Christchurch over the last few days has certainly been stunning with balmy hot days but we could do without the winds which have been extremely gusty to say the least! The weather up the mountain has been a little rough with the Nor'wester kicking in! Last Saturdays wedding party luckily found a gap in the weather and by 2:30pm on Saturday the day was at its best with blue skies and a light breeze for the wedding ceremony. Guests then enjoyed drinks and nibbles on the sun basked Daylodge Deck prior to the main reception in the Daylodge.
Workparties
Since our last E-News earlier in the month a couple more workparties have been held prior to Christmas but for now we are taking a well earned break.
The first workparty for 2011 will be held over the weekend of 5th & 6th February and the focus will be the demolition of Middle Hut. If you can assist with this project for either a day or the whole weekend please Contact Us with details on what days you can help out. Accommodation for Saturday night will be at Snowline Lodge. More info will be posted on the Homepage soon and will include details of what to bring in the way of tools etc.
Other Formal workparties will follow on the first weekend of every month through until May.
Membership Subscriptions
Don't forget the discounted rate for membership subscriptions expires on the 31st December. Adult membership is currently discounted to $325 but as of the 1st January will be $350.
New members can now sign up online via our website and we are currently investigating options for an online membership programme which will allow all members to login and update their personal details along with paying subscriptions Online.
2011 Season
The 2011 season might seem like its still far away but by the time we all get back from Christmas holidays it will be roughly just over 6 months away - boy doesn't time fly!
A new events Calendar is currently being put together and its great to hear that we will be hosting the Secondary School Champs again at Cheeseman.
Ski Weeks are again attracting early enquiries along with bookings. Bookings will be opened to non members in the New Year so make sure you have your booking in for your favourite week! Don't forget the school Holidays are a couple of weeks later next year due to the Rugby World Cup. A full 2011 Ski week calendar and events Calendar will be on the website in the New Year.
We would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday where ever you may be and thanks to everyone for your support during 2010.
