Snow Update
Well its been another eventful week of weather yet again! The good news is that over the last 24 hours we have had 15cm's on new snow so things are looking ok again. After our large 50cm dump we had yet more rain last Friday and whilst the snow held out it did take its toll so this latest fall has been most welcomed by everyone. Its been an up and down season on the weather and snow front with two periods of rain, warm weather and at times elusive snow falls! Despite all this people visiting the mountain have had a great time especially guests on our ski weeks.
Looking ahead over the new few days there is snow forecast for Friday & Saturday with weather clearing on Sunday - check out the weekend weather update below.
On the Mountain
Family 2 Ski Week has been a great success again this year with many regulars returning to enjoy Cheeseman hospitality. As I write this guests are getting ready to hit the new overnight snow and get some fresh lines in. Highlights of the week have included building an igloo, a snow dance (which worked!), new snow, having the whole mountain open and a favourite with the adults has been the early dinners for children followed by games and activities in the Daylodge afterwards meaning that parents have a chance to relax over their dinner. Hut Mum (or Dad in this case) Rick has done a great job organising everyone and the week has run like clockwork.
The Bordercross track which was built for the Secondary Schools Champs is still open for anyone to use and don't forget we are still running race training sessions every Sunday.
This coming Sunday is the Primary & Intermediate Champs which is a fun skiing event and consists of dual slalom course for boys and girls of all age groups from Year 1 to Year 8. No previous ski-racing experience is necessary, merely sufficient skill to ride a T-bar Ski Lift and ski groomed, easy slopes. There will be medals for individual performance, plus an overall team trophy for both primary and intermediate school teams. The emphasis is on fun, and introducing children to the excitement of ski-racing. Entries have now closed for this event - for further info please CLICK HERE or go to our website www.mtcheeseman.co.nz
