Mt Cheeseman’s accommodation options are set in a true alpine wonderland, only 90 minutes drive from Christchurch. There are two accommodation lodges.
The lodge right on the ski field is called “Snowline” (pictured top right, with the Day Lodge including Cockayne Cafe on its left). Snowline offers catered, ski-in, ski-out accommodation with easy access; drive right up to within 15 metres of the lodge to the drop off/pick up area, and then park your car a short, easy stroll away. The ease of being able to ski straight to the lodge door and ski straight out onto the lifts makes Snowline popular for families and multi-day ski holidays. Ride the T-Bar lifts, and relax in the large communal dining/living area while your meals are prepared by our resident cook. Enjoy hot showers, sun-drenched decks and fresh tracks the next morning.
Cheeseman’s other mountain accommodation option is Forest Lodge, a self-catered backpacker-style lodge set on the fringe of the beech forest adjacent to an outdoor ice skating rink and mountain bike track. In winter, you’ll need transport to drive up to the field each day.

Snowline Lodge is a homely, friendly, welcoming haven after a day on the slopes. Recuperate around the pot belly stove before the warm and lively dinner hour. Enjoy the rustic, cozy and authentic mountain lodge atmosphere. The lodge sleeps up to 68 people in 13 bunkrooms with four to six bunks per room. For a more private experience, you have the option to book a room exclusively, but during our bustling periods, you might find yourself sharing the space with fellow snow enthusiasts. We embrace a communal spirit here, and all guests are kindly asked to pitch in with some light tasks, which might include helping with meals, doing dishes, or keeping our shared spaces tidy. It’s a great way to meet new friends and enhance the warm, community feel of our lodge. Children must be at least 3 years old to stay overnight in Snowline Lodge during winter. Guests provide their own sleeping bag, pillow case and towel. Linen hire is available on request.

Cheeseman does not provide any shuttle service from the road to our ski field; you need to either have your own vehicle or have pre arranged a shuttle service.
